Adding a smartphone or tablet to your AGOV account
Description
You want to register another smartphone or tablet as an additional login factor in your AGOV account. By registering additional login factors, you can avoid being locked out of your AGOV account if a registered login factor is lost or faulty.Instructions
Notes- We recommend that you always register at least 2 login factors in your AGOV account, in order to avoid being locked out of your account.
- A maximum of 5 mobile devices can be registered in the AGOV account.
- You can also register a third party's mobile device, in order to authorise that person to use your AGOV login. You can find information on sharing your AGOV account with third parties in the [sharedthirdparties] help article.
- Install the AGOV access app on the new smartphone/tablet:
- Apple iPhone and iPads with iOS 12 or later: AGOV access app for iOS
. - Android smartphones and tablets with Android 6 operating system or later: AGOV access app for Android

- Log in to your (agov.ch/m
e ) AGOV account with an existing login factor (AGOV access app or security key).-

- Go to Login factors.

- Go to AGOV access app and click on Add AGOV access app to register another smartphone/tablet.

- Add mobile devices with the AGOV access app.

- Read the instructions on confirming the transaction.

- Confirm transaction.

- Confirm registration with the login factor that you used to log in to your AGOV account.

The prompts may differ depending on the Android and iOS version.- You will receive a push notification from AGOV access app, which will be displayed in the status bar on your smartphone or tablet. Click on the push notification to confirm the entries with the AGOV access app.

If no push notification is displayed, check whether push notifications for the AGOV access app are enabled (see help article: Why doesn't the AGOV access app receive push notifications?). -
- Confirm using your PIN, fingerprint or Face ID.

- Click on Start Verification.

- Enter the PIN of your security key. Tap the security key to confirm.

- Re-insert the security key and activate it.

- Click on Start Verification.

- Connect the security key to your Mac and tap it.

- Enter the PIN of your security key. Tap the security key to confirm.

- You will receive a push notification from AGOV access app, which will be displayed in the status bar on your smartphone or tablet. Click on the push notification to confirm the entries with the AGOV access app.
- Open the installed AGOV access app on your new smartphone/tablet and use it to scan the displayed QR code.

- Scan the QR code to register for the AGOV access app.

- Select the preferred authentication method on your new smartphone/tablet. This selection depends on the device settings: PIN, fingerprint or Face ID. Please note that the PIN is only valid for the AGOV access app. Make a note of it for later use with the AGOV login.

- Select an authentication method.
Successful registration is confirmed on the smartphone or tablet.-
- You have been successfully registered.

- Registration of the new smartphone/tablet is confirmed. End the process by clicking on Continue.
You can change the name of the newly registered mobile device in the AGOV access app; see the Changing settings in the AGOV access app help article.-
- Registered device name, can be changed in the AGOV access app.

- The new smartphone/tablet is listed under "Login factors". You can now use it for AGOV logins.

- Newly registered login factor is confirmed.
