Address verification
For account holders resident in Switzerland, the data entered is checked against the Swiss Post address database to see if it is valid for deliveries:
- Before a verification letter is sent, the first name, surname and domicile address are checked.
- When registering for personal proof of identity, the domicile address is checked
-
- Address verification failed.
If the address verification fails despite correctly entered data, your details in the Swiss Post address database are probably not up to date. Possible reasons include:
- An unreported change of address or name.
- A family member or sub-tenant is not personally registered with Swiss Post.
- Misspelling of a name or non-official spelling, e.g. Ruedi instead of Rudolf.
- You can change your address yourself in your Swiss Post account if you have a login: Swiss Post/SwissID sign i
