Sharing your AGOV account with third parties

Description

You would like to give a third party access to your AGOV account and share the associated logins for online public services.

Instructions

You can register the AGOV access app or security key of a third party as an additional login factor in your AGOV account. This will give the third party access to your AGOV account, allowing them to use it as follows:
  • They can change personal details and register additional login factors.
  • They can register with government services that are enabled for your account and use these in your name.
  • They can register with other government services in your name.

Sharing your AGOV account with third parties can be worthwhile and useful in the following cases:

  1. You authorise family members to enable them to act on your behalf.
  2. You register the login factor of a family member or friend to ensure access to your account in the event that you lose your smartphone.
  3. A family member or friend helps you to fill in your tax return and needs your AGOV login for this purpose. Your AGOV account should not be shared with fiduciaries, to avoid the employee concerned having full control of your AGOV account. Tax administrations offer delegation options for the purpose of filling in and submitting tax returns.

Please note that AGOV is personal and that, as the accountholder, you are responsible for the consequences of registering third parties in your AGOV account. Only allow people you know and trust to have access to your AGOV account!

The following help articles describe how to register additional login factors for third parties:

Carry out the registration in the presence of the third party, and label their login factors with their name. That way, you can identify third-party login factors at a later date. To rename a login factor in your AGOV account, go to Login factors and click on Manage device.
